Todd Mitchell and Heather Manheim are your hosts for all things pizza making at Satisfying Slice!

Our Story

Our story begins on Valentine’s Day a number of years ago… we went out for dinner but quickly realized the crowded restaurant wasn’t very romantic or fun! We decided to go home and make pizza instead, and that started an annual tradition and a passion for pizza making!

Nowadays, we make pizza on more than just Valentine’s Day. We usually make it at least once a week, trying different doughs, toppings, and sauces. We also work on perfecting our favorite pizza recipes.

Heather has been baking and cooking since she was about ten. From watching her southern Grandma make classics like fried chicken and pot roast to her mom’s more modern California cuisine, Heather developed a unique set of interests and tastes in the kitchen.

Todd’s cooking skills have revolved around the grill since about the same age. He worked at Wendy’s and at Earl’s Tin Palace (a restaurant chain in Canada) but never really did any sort of baking…until he and Heather started making pizza together.

Now we combine our skills and passions to make pizza together for ourselves, our friends, neighbors, and family!

Most of all, we love making pizza side by side. It’s an enjoyable activity for us, and we hope that you will enjoy our recipes with your family, too!

None of this stops us from going out and enjoying pizza made by others; we love to watch and learn from others perfecting this craft and tasting their creations!
